Lightspeed Commerce Rolls Out AI, Payments, and Fulfillment Upgrades to Advance Its Unified Commerce Vision

Jul 19, 2026 (PRISM News via COMTEX) --

Lightspeed Commerce Inc. (NYSE: LSPD) (TSX: LSPD) today unveiled a fresh wave of product innovations across Lightspeed Retail and Lightspeed Restaurant. The company, which powers retail, golf, and hospitality businesses in more than 100 countries, designed these updates to help merchants simplify complex workflows, reclaim time, and operate with greater confidence.

Why It Matters

Retailers and hospitality operators increasingly face pressure to do more with less. Meanwhile, disconnected systems, manual processes, and mounting operational complexity slow them down. Lightspeed’s latest release tackles these pain points head-on, introducing new AI-powered tools, stronger fulfillment capabilities, sharper multi-location management, and automated payments reconciliation.

Payments Take Center Stage

Above all, this release doubles down on Lightspeed Payments. Over the past year, the company has shipped saved payment methods, pre-authorization, automated reconciliation, and new hardware upgrades. Together, these features cut manual work and errors, accelerate service, streamline end-of-day operations, and smooth out the customer experience. By pulling more of the payment lifecycle into one connected platform, Lightspeed helps businesses save time and energy while working with greater accuracy.

“What we’ve released this quarter reflects our continued focus on helping ambitious businesses operate with less friction,” said Dax Dasilva, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Lightspeed. “From simplifying daily operations and improving sales visibility, to creating faster checkout experiences and streamlining fulfillment across channels, these innovations are designed to help our customers move faster, operate smarter, and deliver great customer experiences with confidence.”

What’s New in Retail

Klaviyo integration automates marketing. Lightspeed now connects Klaviyo directly to Lightspeed Retail, so merchants can automate personalized customer communications without wrangling data or juggling fragmented tools. Because the integration syncs customer, sales, and product data in real time, merchants can quickly launch lifecycle flows -- welcome, post-purchase, and re-engagement campaigns -- alongside targeted omnichannel outreach.

AI Blog Builder drives traffic through content. With the new AI Blog Builder, merchants generate SEO-optimized blog posts in minutes. The tool suggests topics automatically and sends publishing reminders, which helps retailers keep a consistent content calendar. Furthermore, advanced design controls, built-in SEO settings, and multilingual support let merchants tailor posts to reach the right audiences and scale their content strategy without the manual grind.

AI section generator speeds up website edits. The newly embedded AI section generator, now part of the AI Assistant, lets merchants build high-quality, on-brand website content faster. Merchants preview changes directly in the editor and refine them through a conversational interface, so updates stay true to their brand. As a result, they save time and deliver more engaging digital experiences.

Lightspeed Scanner grows basket size at checkout. Lightspeed Scanner now surfaces data-driven cross-sell prompts right on the shop floor and at checkout. Drawing on a rolling 90-day market basket analysis, Frequently Bought Together recommendations appear on the Product Details screen during lookup and refresh dynamically on the Sell Screen as staff add items to the cart. Consequently, associates at any experience level can recommend the right complementary products.

Omnichannel customer accounts add convenience. Shoppers buying from Lightspeed Retail merchants can now view order history and manage loyalty points through a new omnichannel customer portal. In doing so, merchants bridge the gap between in-store and online shopping while meeting the convenience customers increasingly expect.

NuORDER Brand Sales Overview clarifies wholesale performance. NuORDER now delivers a centralized view of wholesale sales, letting brands track orders, revenue, units sold, and top performers in one place. Because the dashboard shows clear year-over-year trends and highlights top-performing sales reps, brands can understand performance quickly -- no spreadsheets required.

What’s New in Hospitality

Lightspeed AI surfaces operational insights. Lightspeed AI now delivers customized, AI-driven insights the moment merchants log in to their Back Office. Operators simply ask a question in natural language to generate tailored charts, then pin their preferred reports for easy access. Moreover, merchants who use Lightspeed Tasks to build service checklists can ask Lightspeed AI to flag operational issues across locations, so teams spot what needs attention without combing through every note and comment.

Locations Manager simplifies multi-site operations. The new Locations Manager gives operators a centralized dashboard to run multiple venues at once. In this first iteration, businesses share items, create menus, and sync updates across locations in a few clicks -- yet individual venues keep the flexibility to make regional changes. Looking ahead, Lightspeed plans to add user permission management, invoice visibility across the business, and enhanced unified reporting.

Lightspeed Payments automates reconciliation. Through Lightspeed Payments, reconciliation now automatically accounts for tips, split checks, chargebacks, and tip adjustments. As a result, operators quickly spot discrepancies between POS data and bank deposits. Instead of spending hours balancing the books after service, managers close out faster and gain a clearer view of actual cash flow.

New booking widget gives restaurants more control. Lightspeed Reservations now offers an enhanced booking widget that lets hospitality customers take reservations directly through their own websites. Since guests book without leaving a restaurant’s site, the widget creates a smoother reservation experience -- and helps operators capture more bookings along the guest journey.
