Tetra Tech Wins $100 Million Air Force Environmental Services Contract
Scope of Work Under New Contract
Under the terms of the contract, Tetra Tech's engineers, scientists, and technical specialists will support AFCEC in evaluating and planning critical projects, including:
- Environmental impact assessments and mitigation planning;
- Preparation of environmental impact statements and regulatory documentation;
- Multi-disciplinary analyses related to air quality, noise and acoustics, water resources, cultural and biological resources, and land use;
- Deployment of predictive modeling tools for factors such as hazardous waste and environmental risk to support resilient infrastructure planning.
The work aims to help Air Force bases improve sustainability outcomes, build resilient facilities, and ensure compliance with environmental standards as infrastructure needs evolve. It reflects a deepening integration of scientific analyses and engineering services to support defense-related environmental solutions.
Strategic Defense Collaboration
Tetra Tech's selection for this contract builds on a decades-long relationship with U.S. defense agencies, including prior work with both the Air Force and U.S. Space Force under existing indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract vehicles. The company has delivered more than $1 billion in environmental, planning, and infrastructure services for the Air Force and Space Force across a wide range of missions over the years.
Tetra Tech's "Leading with Science(R)" approach -- which combines subject matter expertise with advanced tools and data-driven methodologies -- is central to its competitive positioning in environmental and infrastructure contracts with federal clients.
Why It Matters
- Environmental compliance and planning: Air Force installations increasingly face complex environmental and regulatory challenges tied to mission expansion, climate resilience, natural resource protection, and infrastructure modernization -- areas where Tetra Tech's multidisciplinary expertise is highly relevant.
- Defense infrastructure durability: As the U.S. military pushes toward modernization and climate-adaptive infrastructure, robust planning and environmental assessment help ensure that investments deliver long-term value while minimizing ecological impacts.
- Stable revenue visibility: Multi-year contracts of this type provide Tetra Tech with predictable workload and opportunities to build lasting technical relationships with federal engineering and planning teams.
