Society Pass Enters the $11 Billion Global eSIM Market with Gorilla Networks Investment
Society Pass Incorporated (Nasdaq: SOPA) has taken a significant step into the fast-growing global eSIM market. On January 29, 2026, the company announced a $1.8 million minority investment in Singapore-based Gorilla Networks Pte Ltd, a telecom eSIM infrastructure and digital connectivity platform.
This move marks Society Pass's first entry into the eSIM sector. At the same time, it strengthens the company's broader travel and online travel agency (OTA) strategy.
According to Straits Research, the global eSIM market is projected to grow from $11.2 billion in 2025 to $25 billion by 2033. That represents an annual growth rate of 10.5%. As demand for seamless connectivity rises, Society Pass aims to position itself early in this expanding market.
Integrating Connectivity into Travel
Society Pass's travel subsidiary, NusaTrip Inc (Nasdaq: NUTR), operates at the point where travelers make instant purchasing decisions. However, mobile connectivity is often purchased separately, even though it is essential for modern travel.
Gorilla Networks aims to close this gap.
Through its API-driven, white-label eSIM infrastructure, Gorilla enables travel platforms to bundle mobile connectivity directly with flights, hotels, and other travel services. As a result, mobile data becomes a built-in feature rather than a standalone add-on.
For travelers, this means greater convenience. For platforms, it creates a new, high-margin revenue stream.
A Platform Designed for Scale
Unlike consumer-focused eSIM providers, Gorilla Networks is built as a platform-first business. It prioritizes scale, distribution partnerships, and multi-market expansion.
Its technology supports centralized provisioning, dynamic pricing, and customized offerings for partners across regions. This structure allows Gorilla to serve large digital platforms efficiently while maintaining flexibility at the local level.
Meanwhile, the global eSIM market remains highly fragmented. Many providers lack the scale or integration capabilities needed to grow. Gorilla's model aggregates demand through major digital partners and standardizes delivery across markets.
As a result, the platform is well positioned for strategic consolidation. This could include acquiring regional operators, niche travel providers, or complementary technology platforms.
Loic Gautier, CEO of Gorilla Networks, explained the vision:
"By embedding eSIM services into partner platforms, we unlock scale, data, and recurring demand. With support from Society Pass and Ascendance Group, we aim to accelerate this vision and evolve into a regional connectivity platform."
Integration and Growth Plans
Society Pass plans to integrate Gorilla's eSIM services into its travel ecosystem, beginning with NusaTrip. Travelers will be able to book flights, accommodations, and mobile connectivity in a single transaction.
This integration is expected to drive higher attach rates and improve customer lifetime value. Importantly, it also introduces recurring revenue with minimal incremental cost.
Looking ahead, Gorilla Networks plans to expand beyond OTA partnerships. Future initiatives include enterprise and B2B connectivity solutions, additional white-label deployments, and targeted acquisitions aligned with its infrastructure roadmap.
Raynauld Liang, CEO of Society Pass, emphasized the strategic fit:
"Connectivity is a natural extension of our travel strategy. Gorilla enables us to internalize a critical service that is digital, scalable, and margin-accretive. Beyond immediate synergies, we see Gorilla as a long-term platform opportunity in a fragmented market ready for consolidation."
