Fluence Powers Next-Generation Solar + Storage Project for BrightNight and Cordelio Power in Arizona

Jan 15, 2026 (PRISM News via COMTEX) --

Fluence Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ: FLNC), a global leader in energy storage systems and software, has been selected to supply its Gridstack Pro(TM) energy storage solution for a landmark solar-plus-storage project being developed by BrightNight and its joint-venture partner Cordelio Power.

The project -- known as the Pioneer Clean Energy Center -- will pair a 300 MWac solar facility with a 300 MW / 1,200 MWh battery energy storage system in Yuma County, Arizona. This utility-scale installation is designed to deliver reliable, dispatchable power to support Arizona's rapidly growing electricity demand and strengthen grid resilience under a long-term tolling agreement.

Advanced Storage for Reliable, Clean Power

Fluence's Gridstack Pro platform -- a purpose-built energy storage system tailored for large-scale, high-performance applications -- will be at the heart of the Pioneer project. By incorporating U.S.-manufactured cells, modules, enclosures, and thermal management systems, the installation underscores Fluence's commitment to bolstering domestic supply chains and enhancing American energy security.

According to statements from Fluence and its project partners, the combined solar and storage installation will deliver firm, on-demand clean energy that helps balance intermittent renewable generation with the real-time needs of the grid. This ability to store and dispatch power supports grid reliability, especially during periods of peak demand or low solar output.

"Pioneer will deliver reliable, dispatchable clean power that Arizona needs to support its rapid growth," said Martin Hermann, CEO of BrightNight. "This project demonstrates how large-scale renewables paired with advanced storage can provide firm capacity and real grid resilience. We are pleased to work with partners who share our commitment to building the next generation of energy infrastructure."

Supporting the Energy Transition

The Pioneer Clean Energy Center represents a growing trend in the energy sector: the integration of utility-scale battery storage with solar generation to create dispatchable, carbon-free energy resources. By capturing excess solar generation and storing it for use during high-demand periods, these hybrid systems help reduce reliance on fossil fuel generation and smooth grid operations.

Fluence has emphasized that this project will showcase the capabilities of domestically produced energy storage technology at scale. The use of U.S.-made components -- from battery cells to thermal management systems -- supports broader efforts to strengthen national supply chains and qualify for potential domestic manufacturing incentives.

Construction is already underway at the Yuma County site, and commercial operation is targeted for April 2027. When completed, the Pioneer Clean Energy Center is expected to significantly enhance Arizona's energy infrastructure by offering dependable, clean power that meets both utility and community needs.
