Sunrise New Energy Secures Patent for Advanced Anode Material Preparation Method
Sunrise New Energy Co., Ltd. (NASDAQ: EPOW), a global leader in energy storage solutions, has announced a significant milestone achieved by its subsidiary, Sunrise (Guizhou) New Energy Materials Co., Ltd. The company has been granted authorization registration for its invention patent titled "Preparation Method of Anode Material for Energy Storage Lithium-Ion Batteries." This breakthrough further solidifies Sunrise's position as a pioneer in advanced anode materials for energy storage systems.
The patented method introduces a cutting-edge process for preparing anode materials that deliver exceptional performance. The resulting material boasts superior high-temperature storage capabilities, high first-cycle efficiency, and remarkable cycling stability. These attributes provide a competitive edge for energy storage lithium-ion batteries, enabling the development of high-performance, long-lasting energy storage systems on a global scale.
The patented process involves several advanced steps:
Pulverization: Isotropic petroleum coke is pulverized to achieve a particle size of D50 = 10-50 μm.
Graphitization: The material undergoes low-temperature graphitization at 2000-2600°C for 6-24 hours.
Classification: Fine powders are removed, and a graphite precursor with a particle size distribution of D90/D10 less-than or equal to 4 is obtained.
Lithium Supplementation: Metallic lithium and polymers are combined with an organic solvent, filtered, and vacuum dried to create a lithium supplementing agent.
Mixing and Pre-Carbonization: The graphite precursor, lithium supplementing agent, and binder are mixed in a ball mill, pre-carbonized at 300-400°C for 1-6 hours to form secondary granules.
Final Heating: The granules are heated to 800-1100°C under an inert atmosphere with a carbon source gas for vapor deposition for 1-6 hours, resulting in the finished product.
This innovative method not only enhances the performance of anode materials but also supports the growing demand for high-efficiency, long-life energy storage systems.
"This patent reflects our R&D team's strong innovation capacity and further validates Sunrise's globally leading position in advanced energy storage anode materials," said Haiping Hu, Founder and CEO of Sunrise New Energy. "We will continue to enhance our R&D investment and accelerate the industrial application of high-efficiency anode materials for the rapidly expanding global energy storage market."
