Rivian Opens Its Adventure Network to All Electric Vehicles

Oct 07, 2025 (PRISM News via COMTEX) --

Rivian (NASDAQ: RIVN) has confirmed that it will open its entire “Rivian Adventure Network” (RAN) of charging stations to electric vehicles from other manufacturers. This move significantly expands charging options for EV drivers across North America.

In a statement on its website, the company announced, “Over time, every Rivian Adventure Network site will be compatible with non-Rivian EVs.” As of today, the network consists of 131 stations with 839 individual chargers. Already, 109 of these stations are accessible to all EV owners, a figure representing over 75% of the total network. Drivers of non-Rivian vehicles can locate compatible charging stations using the Rivian mobile app.

This transition includes a major hardware update across the network. Rivian is upgrading its stations to feature both the Combined Charging System (CCS) and the North American Charging Standard (NACS) connectors. This dual-system approach supports older vehicle models that use CCS while embracing the industry’s shift toward the NACS port, famously used by Tesla.

The decision to adopt NACS was first announced in March 2024. At that time, Rivian provided free adapters to its vehicle owners to ensure they could access the expanding number of NACS-compatible chargers, including over 21,500 Tesla Superchargers. In total, Rivian drivers have access to approximately 227,000 chargers in North America. The company’s upcoming R2 SUV was recently seen using a Tesla Supercharger, confirming it will come equipped with a native NACS port.

Looking ahead, Rivian plans to continue expanding its network. The company’s charging map shows 29 new stations are in development. A significant number of these are planned for the West Coast, with seven located in California. Other states slated for new charging points include Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, New York, and Maine.
